A Brooklyn-based design firm transformed Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in one Clay figure of 15 centimeters depicting “the unlikely hero”: for each piece sold, the figure of 1 dollar goes to Ukraine. The Guardian reports on it. Company FCtry launched a campaign to fund production two weeks ago, met its $30,000 funding goal in just three hours and raised more than $120,000 in 15 days. The prototype Zelenski character was sculpted by Seattle artist Mike Leavitt and is mass-produced in China from plastic. The first delivery is expected in March.
“The way we portrayed him in the campaign is ‘the unlikely hero,'” said Jason Feinberg, CEO and creative director of FCtry. “He’s the perfect leader for this moment, just this super inspirational character. He has this real strength, but he’s humble and kind of represents the opposite of everything we associate with politics,” he commented.
