A Thai YouTube star accused of cheating thousands of his fans out of £46million in a currency trading scam has fled the country, police said.

Suchata Kongsupachak, 30, who has more than 840,000 YouTube subscribers, has allegedly lured 6,000 of her fans into investing in her forex trading venture by promising returns of up to 35 percent.

Kongsupachak, a dancer named “Nutty,” frequently posted photos to social media showing a range of luxury cars, watches and properties that she claimed she acquired through forex trading through a broker called “IQ Option,” said the police.

But it was all a lie – the 6,000 fans never received the promised winnings and were instead scammed out of £46m (2bn baht).

A lawyer representing dozens of the victims said one person transferred £424,170 (18 million baht) to Kongsupachak’s bank account.

In April, the YouTube star shared with fans that she lost all of her investment due to a “trading error.”

Kongsupachak is said to have fled to Malaysia after a Thai court issued an arrest warrant for her on fraud charges, the South Morning China Post reports.

Wattana Ketumpai, an official with Thailand’s Cyber ​​Crime Investigation Bureau, told the Nation of Thailand: “Suchata has often posted photos on social media showing her wealth in luxury cars, watches, bags and property, while claiming she has them.” acquired through forex trading through a broker called “IQ Option”.

“Then she invited her fan club and followers to invest in forex trading with her company called Suchata Co Ltd while guaranteeing up to 100 percent return. Investments can be made either in cash or through a trust deed.’

More than 100 victims have come forward to file complaints against Kongsupachak.

Investors have now offered a reward of £117,753 to anyone who can give them information on where Kongsupachak is.

Kongsupachak, who runs a YouTube channel called Nutty’s Diary, has changed her name twice. Her names were previously Leah Kongchak and Natthamon Kongchak, reports Nation Thailand.
