Four men were arrested on suspicion of raping a 19yearold drunk student and dumping her on a street where she was run over. The young woman was rescued but was unable to defend herself and died in hospital on January 15. The case was registered in Louisiana (USA).

The victim has been identified as Madison Brooks, the suspects in the crime were revealed Monday night (23), Kaivon Washington, age 18, and a young man, 17, whose name is withheld by authorities because of his age., have been charged with rape third degree indictment.

18yearold Casen Carver and 28yearold Everett Lee were also arrested and charged with assisting in thirddegree rape following Brooks’ death.

Police reports show Brooks had a blood alcohol count at the time of his death. One of the defendants in the alleged rape of Brooks claimed he had a consensual sexual encounter with her after the group left the bar.

Carver admitted that he and his three friends had drinks at the bar before dating Brooks. The suspect told investigators that his 17yearold boyfriend and Brooks “hug and left together.”

Investigators say Carver told them Brooks asked for a ride home. He then told investigators that Washington and the 17yearold both asked Brooks to have sex with them, to which she agreed.

However, Carver also told investigators that he believed Brooks was too drunk to know that she consented to the sex.

The men claim Brooks asked to be taken home but say she gave them several different addresses before getting out of the car.

Carver says they later abandoned Brooks in a neighborhood near where she was pulled over. The driver who hit her has not been arrested and is not suspected of being drunk.

Under Louisiana law, the charge of thirddegree rape generally relates to a victim who “became in a state of intoxication or abnormal mental state caused by an intoxicant or other cause and which the offender knew or was unable to.” is to resist or understand the act should have known of the victim’s disability.’
