Young man claiming to be missing girl Madeleine McCann reveals family have already been contacted for DNA testing

The family of the missing girl Madeleine McCann contacted the Pole Julia Faustyna with a view to a DNA test. The interaction between the McCann family and the 22yearold was reported by British newspaper Daily Star following Faustyna’s interview with the international press on the matter. The same publication said they spoke to people close to Madeleine’s parents, who confirmed plans for the exam.

“The family does not want to exclude anything,” said the contact person of the newspaper. “They are ready to examine every lead. It is important to take everything into account and the girl is similar. This is not up for debate. If what she says is true, chances are she is.”

Julia Faustyna’s allegations recently came to light after she created an Instagram account called “I am Madeleine McCann” which already has more than 382,000 followers. She claims to be the English girl who disappeared from a holiday resort in Portugal in 2007.

She says she has no memories of her childhood and is unsure if the woman she grew up with is really her biological mother. However, her family members claim that she needs psychological help and rule out the possibility that she is Madeleine McCann.

Julia also says she has memories of being molested by a German man. In this case, the report would cover the suspicions about Christian Brückner. He is serving time in a German prison for raping a 72yearold woman at the same resort where the British child disappeared in 2007. He is silent on this subject.

Brueckner was living in the same area of Portugal when Madeleine went missing. He was providing maintenance services at the resort where the girl was staying when she last saw her family. In 2020, he became the prime suspect after telling a friend he was involved in Madeleine’s disappearance, without giving further details about his allegations.

Faustina’s lines also reflect the content of the documentary The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The work, published in 2019, considers the possibility that the girl is still alive today. The theory presented by the case investigators in the production is that the child was a victim of child traffickers when he was abducted from the hotel where he was staying with his parents in Praia da Luz.
