WTA: Four more years of women’s tennis at TVA Sports

Broadcaster TVA Sports on Tuesday announced the extension of its agreement with the WTA, an agreement that is now in effect until the end of 2026.

Thus, Leylah Fernandez from Quebec, Bianca Andreescu from Canada and the other female stars of world women’s tennis will continue to shine on TVA Sports, the exclusive French-speaking channel of the professional circuit that has been presenting women’s matches since 2013. The network will broadcast all WTA 500 and 1000 tournaments as well as the 250 competitions featuring the country’s women players. Viewers therefore have the opportunity to follow their favorite athletes at the various WTA events throughout the season.

“We are very happy and proud to renew our long-term agreement,” TVA Sports General Manager Louis-Philippe Neveu said in a press release. It’s important to us to continue to showcase the best women tennis players in the world and to follow the rise of our talents on the world stage, including Bianca Andreescu and Leylah Fernandez. This agreement broadens our offering to subscribers and we believe these meetings with the best players in the world are essential to our program.”

The President of the WTA, Micky Lawler, is also pleased about the extension of this association.

“TVA Sports has welcomed French Canadian WTA fans since 2013 and we are excited to extend this partnership through 2026,” she said. The channel is committed to showcasing women’s tennis at a time when the sport is booming in Canada. We will continue to work with her with great enthusiasm in the coming seasons to promote our sport on her remarkable platform.”

This week, the Quebec public can follow the exploits of the participants in the National Bank Open, the women’s section of which takes place in Toronto up to and including Sunday.
