Quebec writer and essayist Lori Saint-Martin died on Saturday at the age of 63, Éditions du Boréal announced.

Born in Kitchener, Ontario, the writer has primarily made his career in Montreal, in French.

In addition to publishing novels and collections of short stories, she has co-authored more than a hundred translations with her husband Paul Gagné, which have earned them several awards, including four Literary Awards from the Governor General.

She was also recognized as a member of the Royal Society of Canada and had just been admitted to the Académie des lettres du Québec.
