England, hosts of the competition, two-time finalist of the competition but who never won it, will try to set their international record in front of a crowd convinced of their cause while getting revenge in the Euro 2009 final, won 6-2 by the Germans . To reach the final, England beat Spain in the quarters (2-1 after extra time) and Sweden in the semi-finals (4-0).
Germany, the behemoth of European women’s football, is aiming for a 9th continental title released by Denmark in quarter 2017 (2-1), the Germans had previously won €6. In that edition they eliminated Austria (2-0) in the quarters and France (2-1) in the semifinals. Alexandra Popp, who would be a great asset for the Germans and scored in every game in this competition, is missing from the starting XI due to muscle pain.
