Halton Regional Police are investigating the death of a woman at an apartment building in Burlington, a suburb of Toronto, Ontario, in what appears to be a “homicide investigation.”

Officers moved to a Burlington apartment block around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning to notice an unconscious woman in one of the units.
They were able to locate the woman at her home and later confirmed her death.
During this investigation, police arrested a 70-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He is currently in custody with charges pending against him.
“This incident has been isolated to the residence of the apartment in question, the police are not looking for other suspects and there is no threat to public safety,” the police said on the sidelines of a press conference.
At the request of the victim’s family, officials do not intend to reveal the identity of the deceased woman.
They also gave no details about the method by which the victim lost his life or his relationship with the 70-year-old man.
