A man accused of raping and disfiguring a woman he held captive in his California home for six months has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The 22-year-old victim moved into McGuire’s house, but when she decided to move out, he refused to let her go and kept her against her will, according to the LA Times.

The woman called police after fleeing the home last Thursday night.

McGuire was arrested at 8:30 a.m. Friday after fleeing and barricading himself inside another property in Placenta, Orange County.

McGuire is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday.

He filed charges of kidnapping, mayhem and sodomy by use of force Monday, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Five of the charges include specific allegations that the crimes involved inflicting aggravated assault and administering a controlled substance during a sex crime, prosecutors said.

The victim told investigators she was tortured, physically assaulted and raped, sheriff’s officers said.

“The victim had visible injuries consistent with the allegations made,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

A search warrant was served on the house and evidence was recovered, but the suspect was not there.

He was located at a home in Placentia in neighboring Orange County on Saturday morning and surrendered after an hour-long standoff with SWAT officers, officials said.
