Friendly, dedicated, professional. These are the nearly 60 drivers who make up the Cuban Medical Mission’s national transport group in Venezuela. And it couldn’t be otherwise as they fulfill the important task of convicting the rest of the collaborators, protecting them on the road and taking them to the place where they will save a life.

Ignacio González Llerena, head of the national transport group of the Cuban Medical Mission in Venezuela, explains that these professionals must coordinate and execute a transport plan that includes not only the transport of people, but also medical supplies, furniture, medicines, parts and parts , besides other elements.

Drivers, mechanics and vehicles responsible for transporting employees throughout Venezuela’s geography form a triad that must function perfectly.

“A rigorous control of the technical condition of the cars is required of us, as well as impeccable road discipline. This is the only way our employees can trust that they will arrive safely at their destination.”

And of course, traveling the endless highways of Venezuela requires not only the skill and responsibility of our drivers, but also the knowledge of how to overcome the obstacles that appear before taking the wheel.

“Sometimes there is a lack of resources to keep these cars running, some of which have been in use for many years. However, we are growing and working primarily with medical vehicles.”

Nothing stops Cuban airlines in Venezuela. These are 58 drivers, 8 mechanics and other specialists, led by Villa Clara’s Ignacio González Llerena, who have the sole obligation to transport those who will later save a life.
