Patricia Perissinotto, wife of Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser, died today at the age of 52. The information was confirmed by the heavy metal band’s guitarist on his Instagram this afternoon. The producer and businesswoman was treating colon cancer.
In announcing the news, Andreas recalled his history with his partner, with whom he began a relationship in 1990, praising Patrícia as a “mother, daughter, friend and companion” and her strength after being diagnosed with the tumor.
“This was the last post from the love of my life, Pat Kisser, on Valentine’s Day and through the worst moment of our lives. I just have to thank you for the privilege of having Patricia in my life. My girlfriend, my wife and my best friend! My north, my inspiration and the best experience of life. How I learned from you, how I improved with you, how I grew up. We’ve never broken up since 1990, when we had our first kiss in the middle of a street in Mogi das Cruzes, where you were at medical school,” Andreas said, sharing a photo of the woman’s necklace with a pendant with photos of the two inside her youth.
“She stayed strong until the last moment, always worried about everyone around her and faced the situation headon, with strength and determination. My admiration for you is eternal. I love you! I am sure we will cross paths again in some dimension beyond this earth! Rest in peace my love, thanks for everything, sorry that I sometimes drank a lot, was a jealous idiot at the beginning of the relationship, among other things that bothered you. (…) I love you! My path was always easier at your side!” added the musician.
Giulia, the couple’s daughter, also left a statement for Patricia on her social networks. The 27yearold stressed her longing for her mother and the family’s “confusion” with the death of the producer.
“There is so much confusion in my head, I feel selfish wanting you to rest soon and we have peace, I feel selfish wanting you to suffer here, I feel bad with so many thoughts in me. So I just want us all to be at peace and healthy at the right time, I’ve asked the universe a lot, I really do! I miss your little voice and I’m sure wherever you are now you’re crying bye mom,” she wrote.
Andreas recently canceled Sepultura’s European tour to closely monitor Patricia’s health.
The guitarist’s family also commented on the band’s networks.
“Her existence will remain in our lives and in our memories forever. We thank our friends for all their support and messages of affection. We ask for privacy at this difficult time,” explained the statement published on the pages of Sepultura and signed by Andreas and his children Giulia, Yohan and Enzo. The couple’s two youngest children are 25 and 17 years old.
Yohan also left a reminder of his mother on his Instagram profile, sharing a newborn photo in Patricia’s arms.
