Emmanuel Macron returned to his brief sentence uttered during his vows to the French in a video.
“There was a lot of bad faith.” President Emmanuel Macron responded to the controversy surrounding his wish in a new video posted Tuesday night on the YouTube channel, where he regularly answers questions about the ecology of the French.
His terse sentence of December 31, “which could have predicted the climate crisis”, actually surprised many observers and triggered a lot of ridicule.
To look like a gamer, the president even goes so far as to show a screenshot of an animated film of Coco! “They wanted me to say that I haven’t read any report from the IPCC, IPBES, experts… and that I will discover climate change in 2022,” he summarizes. “I have a lot of humility, but we’ve been acting for years,” he continues.

He explains: “What was I trying to say? Basically it was faster than expected and that’s true.” He recalls the observations made by climate specialists for the year 2022. For him it was “more of an ecological warning message, because they wanted to caricature me in a message of denial”.
