Celebrations in Sevastopol interrupted. Six were injured in a drone attack by “Ukrainian nationalists” on Russian Black Sea Fleet personnel, the governor of this port city in annexed Crimea said on Sunday, July 31. As a result, the Russian Fleet Day celebrations there “have been canceled for security reasons,” he added.

Ukraine has denied involvement in the “so-called Ukrainian attack” and accused Russia of “deliberate provocation”. “The liberation of occupied Ukrainian Crimea will be done in a different, much more efficient way,” commented a spokesman for the Odessa regional administration in southern Ukraine.
Extensive celebrations took place across Russia on Russian Fleet Day, including a naval parade in St Petersburg led by President Vladimir Putin.
