A few days before Joe Biden’s trip to Poland, Washington reaffirmed its support for Ukraine

“We can proudly say that our support for Ukraine remains unwavering and that (…) the international coalition supporting Ukraine is stronger than ever,” White House spokesman John Kirby said on Friday, reiterating, that the United States would support Kiev “for as long as it takes”.

That statement comes as US President Joe Biden is due to visit Poland, a country that borders Ukraine, next week. He will speak during a celebratory speech at the Warsaw Palace on Tuesday. Three days before the first anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, he wants “a message to [Vladimir] Putin as well as the Russian people,” said John Kirby.
