Known as the “Oscars of Animation”, the annie prices today announced its list of nominees for the 2023 edition with a big surprise: the Brazilian Wagner Moura received a nomination for Best Voice Actress in an Animated Feature. The full list of nominees can be viewed here.
Moura will best fight back David Bradley (Pinocchio), Gregory Mann (Pinocchio), Jenny Slate (Marcel the Shell with shoes on) and ZarisAngel Hathor (The beast of the sea).
In the other categories, the highlights were Pinocchio and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, with nine and eight nominations, respectively, and Red: Crescer é uma Fera, with seven nominations.
