The former Spice Girl launched her clothing line almost 15 years ago
For years, Victoria Beckham has been accused of only designing clothes for women who are (almost) as skinny as she is.
But now, nearly a decade and a half after launching her fashion collection, she has produced a line that extends up to size 18.
The former Spice Girl has added a collection called VB Body to her struggling label, which has posted tens of millions of pounds in losses.
It includes 12 pieces for women between the ages of six and 18 and is available in different colours.
A source close to the label told The Mail on Sunday: “Finally Victoria has caught up. It’s great and she’s very proud of her new collection.
“There’s a whole new customer out there buying her products but let’s be honest it’s taken a while but at least she’s changing things up.”
The range, available on Ms Beckham’s website, includes a fitted mini dress for £490, a one-shoulder top for £350 and a cropped cardigan for £450.
All styles are available in black, white, brown, blush, green and red-orange.
Ms Beckham, 48 – who is a size 66 – surprised her fans last May by saying she thought being skinny was out of style.
She said: “I think women today want to look healthy and curvy. They want some boobs and a butt. It’s not about a specific size. It’s about knowing who you are and being happy with who you are.”
The range, available on Ms Beckham’s website, includes a one-shoulder top for £350 and a fitted skirt for £290, and goes up to a size 18
Despite her changed attitude, Ms Beckham’s husband David revealed they have eaten the same food over the 25 years they have been together.
He said: “For as long as I’ve known Victoria she’s only eaten grilled fish and steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from it.’
By Katie Hind, show business consultant and editor, Ms Beckham’s London-based business is said to have racked up losses of £53.9million.
Her clothing brand and new beauty line reportedly lost £6.6million in 2020.
