Veteran TV presenter Alan Jones is selling a lavish New South Wales farm for $12.8 million

Alan Jones eventually sells his lavish New South Wales farm for $12.8 million after listing it for the second time – and makes a $10 million profit on the deal

Former 2GB radio host Alan Jones has sold his lavish farm property in the Southern Highlands of rural New South Wales for just over $12.8 million.

The veteran presenter, 81, sold the large property to Sydney contractor Blake Cottle of FDC Construction and his wife Justine.

Jones bought the farm in 2003 for $2.6 million and has spent the last two decades giving it a major makeover.

He first put the farm on the market for $17.5 million early last year and listed it again for $16 million in October when he couldn’t find a buyer.

Fitzroy Falls Farm is particularly attractive to industrial buyers as it features a large 25 room homestead and state of the art equestrian facilities.

Other features include a caretaker’s cottage, landscaped gardens, an ornamental pond and a tennis court.

Jones named the farm Elizabeth Farm and Charlieville in honor of his parents.

Last year, Jones urged Australians to lobby for welfare and work while employers struggle to find staff to fill key positions.

The broadcaster spoke about staff shortages in its nightly program on the digital streaming service ADH TV.

“Everywhere I turn I am met with companies large and small throwing their arms in the air and arguing that they can’t get staff,” Jones said.

He claimed in the video the labor shortage has become a “consequence” of the “necessary closing of our borders” during the Covid pandemic.

Jones lives in a luxury apartment on East Circular Quay overlooking Sydney Harbour.
