Venezuela for promoting integration with Caribbean countries

Caracas, January 19 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil held a meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions of the Caribbean countries here today to promote regional integration.

The diplomats spoke the day before about the cooperation and solidarity between the Bolivarian Republic and the sister nations of the Caribbean, discussing issues of regional connectivity, energy and food security and integration, among others.

They also disseminated guidelines to revitalize Petrocaribe and promote cooperation projects through institutions such as Banco del ALBA on the basis of mutual benefit to peoples, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Last Monday, President Nicolás Maduro assured that there is a new era in Latin America and the Caribbean, with good and new winds of integration and union blowing.

As part of the work lines for 2023, Maduro mentioned an axis aimed at consolidating the Patria Grande projects and moving forward with the plans.

He announced that Venezuelan Ambassador to Colombia, Félix Plasencia, is stepping down to assume full-time duties as Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

The Venezuelan President pointed out that among the missions to be strongly promoted by Plasencia are the restoration of Petrocaribe and the strengthening of all social, educational, cultural and health plans of ALBA-TCP, Miracle Mission and all projects are emphasized .

Gil thanked the solidarity of the Caribbean nations in ending the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Venezuela by the United States and its allies.

The diplomat explained on his Twitter account that we are more than neighbors and share the same ideals, challenges and the need to continue working together for integration between our peoples.
