USA 1-2 Serbia: Anthony Hudson’s USMNT loses its first game since the Gregg Berhalter ‘blackmail’ controversy as two quick goals on either side of half-time snuffed out Brandon Vazquez’s opener
The US has lost its first game since falling in the round of 16 at the World Cup in Qatar amid the turmoil in US soccer following the scam extortion scandal.
Caretaker manager Anthony Hudson took over his first game following the expiry of Gregg Berhalter’s contract and the bombshell revelation from Gio Reyna’s parents that the ex-head coach had kicked his wife in 1991 with an investigation launched.
Hudson started seven debutants for the friendly against Serbia and Brandon Vazquez headed home the first set in the 29th minute. Two quick goals from the visitors on either side of the half meant a defeat for the USA.
