A 14yearold girl is accused of killing an 11yearold boy
A 14yearold teenager is accused of killing an 11yearold boy who was hit by a man scatter ball
in Dallas
, in the United States . According to local police, the shot was fired by the young woman after an altercation with another girl believed to be the victim’s sister at a condominium south of the city.
The police were called because of a shoot
in the parking lot of an apartment building.
“A young suspect took a gun and shot at the girl she was fighting. However, the shot struck a teenage male bystander,” police said in a statement, according to the KTVT.
The 11yearold was taken to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene but was later arrested and charged. She is now at the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center, according to police.
During the investigation a weapon
was recovered. The identities of those involved in the episode have not been revealed as they are minors.
De’Evan McFall’s mother, Vashunte Settles, identified the boy as her son and said he died before her eyes. “I have to testify and be there … I’ll never get over this,” she told KTVT.
According to her, her daughter was fighting a 14yearold girl who pulled out a gun and shot her. However, she missed the shot and hit De’Evan.
“He was so innocent. He definitely didn’t deserve that,” said Settles. “I just wish the younger generation would stop and think before doing unreasonable things because I’m not the only one suffering in this situation.”
“Take this story and make something productive out of it. May my child not die in vain and may this save someone else’s child,” he added.
