Globo last Tuesday confirmed Rafa Kalimann’s departure from the soap opera Vai na Fé, as the influencer and former BBB did not have a professional actress registration, the DRT, with the Union of Artists and Technicians in Rio de Janeiro.
Although a replacement has already been found, one question remains why can’t Kalimann act on DRT when that is also the scenario for influencer and exBBB Jade Picon, current protagonist of “Travessia”?
The question boils down to a special permit granted by the Sated in cases like those of Kalimann and Picon.
At Picon’s confirmation in Gloria Perez’s soap opera, union president Hugo Gross even said that she had been given such authority to act punctually on the show. It would be “an express permission for them [Picon] deal in a specific product and with an expiration date,” he said during a live appearance on Instagram last June. “The work is over, it’s over. She is not entitled to professional registration when the property ends.”
Kalimann, on the other hand, goes through a bureaucratic hurdle in this process. According to Sated, Globo filed the application after the recordings and with missing documents, making the case difficult to analyze. Even with attempts at rectification, there was not enough time to normalize the situation and hence the former BBB’s participation was denied.
Last year live, Gross also commented that the special permit deducts 5% of the holder’s salary and does not serve as a professional course diploma or acting workshop.
This situation prompted Globo to announce Sofia Starling for the role previously cast by Kalimann. Model and exgirlfriend of presenter André Marques, with roles in “O Tempo Não Para”, “Verão 90” and “Malhação Seu Lugar no Mundo”, she has to reshoot the scenes with José Loreto to be included in the series. The role in this case comprised two episodes of “Vai na Fé”.
