Ukraine launches a nanosatellite from an American base

A SpaceX rocket is set to launch a Ukrainian-made nanosatellite from the US base at Cape Canaveral.

Ukraine continues its scientific experiments despite the war. PolyITAN-HP-30, a nanosatellite, will be launched on Tuesday, January 3 at around 4:50 p.m. from the American space base Cape Canaveral in Florida on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, the Ukrainian’s press service reports with Ministry of Education and Science.

It was designed by scientists from the National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, “exclusively with budget funds provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within the framework of the implementation of the winning projects of scientific research and funding competitions, as well as the Framework Funding Agreement” , adds the press release.

Its mission: “To conduct a scientific experiment to study the efficiency of operation of heat pipes (heat pipes) of various designs as the main element of spacecraft thermal stabilization systems”. The delivery of the satellite was sponsored by Boeing Ukraine, and a Dutch company provided financial and technical support for the launch of the nanosatellite.
