Two more roses for the summer

Two more rosés for the summer

Good weather. Hot. The holidays are in full swing. We take the opportunity to sip two more rosés that have just landed on the shelves of SAQ.

Patrick Piuze, Non Dosé Rosé Traditional Method, Vin de France $25.50 – code SAQ 14961902 – 1.6% – 12%

Already the Non Dosé in white is delicious, the rosé version adds a layer with a juicy and luscious fruit articulated around a lively and precise acidity. It’s very dry with relief and a salty finish and we suspect raspberry and cherry. Another great job from our Quebecer and Chablisian through adoption Patrick Piuze!

Domaine de L’Olivette rosé 2021, Bandol, France $26.90 – code SAQ 14486523 – 13.5% – 1.2 g/l

Here’s your chance to snag a rosé from Bandol, one of the best regions for this type of wine, at a bargain price. It’s available from SAQ Dépôt and you get a 15% discount when you buy 12 or more bottles, which works out to just under $23 per bottle. And the quality is there: a very present nose with notes of melon, lavender and citrus fruits. On the palate it shows a rich fruitiness, a finer structure for a rosé of this appellation and a tasty finish with good persistence. Perfect as an aperitif, but even better at the table.
