Two motorists fought for their lives Wednesday night after colliding head-on with a heavy truck on Route 137 in Saint-Dominique, Montérégie.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the car in which the two victims were found ended up in the path of the truck, which could no longer avoid the head-on collision around 5:30 p.m.
The two occupants of the car were seriously injured and were in critical condition at the start of the evening, said SQ spokesman Stéphane Tremblay.
The cause of the accident is being investigated. A crash reconstructionist was also expected on site to analyze the scene while the road was closed to traffic so he could do his job.
