Six weeks after being ousted from Rolling Stone’s list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time, Celine Dion sees two of her hits make it into Billboard magazine’s Top 50 Love Songs. because you loved me And The power of love are part of this list.

Because You Loved Me is No. 14. This debut single from the album Falling Into You spent six weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1996. Written by Diane Warren, this song is the theme song for the film Up Close & Personal, starring Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The Power of Love follows at number 44. This song was the first single from the 1993 album The Color of My Love. This track was written by Jennifer Rush and recorded by singer-songwriter Air Supply and Laura Branigan before finding immense success with Céline’s cover. The Power of Love occupied the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks in 1994.

Endless Love

Endless Love by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross dominates this Top 50, to be released February 9th. This song from the film of the same name was number 1 for eleven weeks in 1981.

We then find I’ll Make Love to You (Boyz II Men), How Deep is Your Love (Bee Gees), We Found Love (Rihanna and Calvin Harris) and Silly Love Songs (Wings).

Another Canadian in this top 50 is Justin Bieber and the play Loved Yourself at number 20.

These 50 Greatest Love Songs of All Time were created based on the number of weeks spent on the Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1958 and the present. The word “Love” and its derivatives had to be present in the song’s title for it to be legal.
