Trump calls the FBI “Gestapo” and claims to conspire to make Biden documents seem less significant than his

Trump has slammed the “Gestapo” FBI and the “Democrats and crooked media” for making Biden’s filing scandal “less significant” — claiming he took empty folders rather than classified documents

  • Former President Trump attacked the FBI and fake news media
  • Says he saved “hundreds” of folders marked secret – but returned documents
  • He wrote ‘maybe’ FBI ‘Gestapo’ counted the folders as documents
  • Court files after the Mar-a-Lago raid showed 48 folders, 300 classified
  • Biden’s team has now turned over classified documents from his home, his office

President Donald Trump on Tuesday compared federal agents to “Gestapo” members when he complained about how the search of Mar-a-Lago stacked up with the discovery of classified documents at the home and an office used by President Joe Biden.

Trump referred to the FBI agents who conducted the search of Mar-a-Lago on a court-approved warrant as both “Gestapo” and “Trump Hating Marxist Thugs,” who he said were “planting” documents on him. .

At the same time, Trump provided an explanation for the first time why dozens of empty folders marked as “classified” were among the thousands of documents uncovered following a subpoena at his Florida club.

All of this comes amid ongoing questions about what prompted Biden’s attorneys to search his home in Wilmington, Delaware, for documents, including some marked “top secret,” and who had access to the Penn Biden Center’s office and to the Wilmington garage was where the documents were discovered by Biden’s team.

Trump said he rescued “hundreds” of the stewards after safe briefings in the Oval Office. He said he kept them as a “cool” keepsake – and then postulated that the government was using the binders to increase the amount of classified material found at Mar-a-Lago.

“The Fake News Media & Crooked Democrats (that’s proven!) keep saying I have a ‘large body of documents’ to make the Biden Classified Docs seem less significant. When I was in the Oval Office or elsewhere and “papers” were distributed to groups of people and myself, they were often in a striped paper folder with “Confidential” or “Confidential” or some other word on it.” Trump wrote in two posts his Truth Social website.

“When the session was over they collected the papers but not the folders and I kept hundreds of them…” he continued.

“Remember, these were just ordinary, cheap binders with different words printed on them, but they were a ‘cool’ keepsake. Perhaps the Gestapo took some of these empty folders when they raided Mar-a-Lago and counted them as documents, which they are not. It is also possible that those in charge of Trump Hating Marxist Thugs are “planting” documents while in possession of the material. As President and based on the Presidential Records Act & Socks Case, I have done NOTHING WRONG. JOE HAS!’

The FBI released categories of material its agents uncovered in court filings. In one, the bureau announced it had found 48 empty folders containing classified material. The FBI discovered 300 documents with classified markings.

Several of the 10 documents uncovered at the Penn Biden Center in DC, where Biden maintained an office, reportedly contained “top secret” markings, with a similar number of documents found at his Wilmington home.

The discovery of the documents prompted AG Merrick Garland to appoint Robert Hur as Special Counsel to investigate the situation. A separate special counsel, Jack Smith, is overseeing the investigation into the Trump documents as well as the January 6 investigation.
