TripAdvisor today ranked Cuba first in the Fashion Destination category in the 2023 Travelers’ Choice Awards.
The list, which summarizes the places around the world seeing the greatest year-over-year growth in interest within the popular travel website, was topped by the Caribbean country, followed by Vietnam (Asia) and Mauritius (Africa).
In the comments on the award, TripAdvisor specifically recommended that travelers take advantage of their visit to the island to stroll through the enchanting streets of Old Havana.
The silver medal went to the Vietnamese city of Hoi An, where the tourist site suggested visiting the Ba Na Hills theme park and strolling along the scenic Golden Bridge.
The awards presented on Wednesday saw Dubai as the world’s number one tourist destination, London as first in Europe and third overall, and New York as the top-ranked place in the United States.
Award winners were determined based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings specific to various trip award subcategories, according to Tripadvisor.
The website noted that these categories include accommodation, dining and activities to be carried out in destinations around the world in the 12 months between November 2021 and October 2022.
