Tripadvisor, the world’s largest travel advice platform, has presented its Travellers’ Choice Awards “Best of the Best Destination” based on the opinions of millions of travelers from around the world. Cuba has been voted the #1 trending or fashion destination in the world for 2023.
This year Travellers’ Choice Destinations includes six sub-categories: Popular Destinations, Trending Destinations, Dining Destinations, Best Ski Destinations, Natural Destinations and Best Cultural Spots.
Cuba is the world’s #1 trend or fashion destination by 2023. This category shows destinations with the highest annual growth in interest on Tripadvisor, indicating new attractions are on the rise.
According to the Tripadvisor statement, “Travellers’ appetites for Cuba have increased on Tripadvisor since the US eased some travel restrictions and added new direct flight routes in May.
“Noted for its Old World architecture and rich history, the island offers fascinating opportunities for cultural exchange.”
Cuba is followed by Hoi An, Vietnam, at number 2, and Mauritius, at number 3.
“We have seen a resurgence in travel demand in 2022 and the outlook for this year is promising,” said Sarah Firshein, Editor-in-Chief of Tripadvisor.
“Long-haul travel is back, and many Americans are excited to be planning trips to the Asia-Pacific region for the first time in several years. Cities like Paris and London, which may have outperformed less populated destinations during the pandemic, are back on travelers’ minds. while places like Alaska and Cuba also attract a lot of interest.”he added.
Available in 43 markets and 22 languages, Tripadvisor is a travel consultancy whose affiliates own well-known travel media brands and businesses. Tripadvisor collects more than 1 billion reviews and opinions from nearly eight million businesses, including websites and apps.
Each year, Tripadvisor analyzes the millions of reviews submitted to its platform over the past 12 months by a global community of hundreds of millions of travelers. The ranking is based on the opinions of people who have visited destinations in the last year and left their comments on the platform.
