Tom Hanks, 66, shares he’s only done about four “pretty good” movies

Tom Hanks has appeared in a staggering 85 films in his 50-year career.

And this week, the 66-year-old actor shared that he thinks only about four of them are “pretty good.” But the Hollywood heavy refused to name her.

Some of his top films were Big, Sleepless In Seattle, Forrest Gump, Philadelphia, Saving Private Ryan, You’ve Got Mail, Cast Away, A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood and Elvis. His next film is Pinocchio.

There are many of his own life lessons in the novel.

“Each character in the book does something that I experienced while making a movie, discovered a philosophy, or learned an important lesson.

“Even the silly moments are some kind of stunt I pulled or a mistake I survived,” he shared with the site.

“The source for a film can go back as many years as there are in history. A story revolves around a single moment in someone’s life, then all the anecdotes of the current day magnify that moment,” Hanks explained.

“Going back to 1947 makes sense, just as it would have started in, say, 1559. Human longing has proven to be timeless.

“Nobody knows how a film is made – although everyone thinks they know,” he added. “I’ve done a lot of films (and four of them are pretty good I think) and I’m still amazed at how films come together. From a flickering idea to the flickering image on screen, the whole process is a miracle.”
