Todd and Julie Chrisley report to federal prisons to serve sentences

CNN —

Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley are now in the custody of federal prison officers, according to their attorney Alex Little.

The couple, who were sentenced to prison last month in November for fraud and tax crimes, reported to their assigned jails in Florida and Kentucky before their deadline Tuesday, noon local time, Little told CNN.

Todd Chrisley has served 12 years at FPC Pensacola, a minimum security facility in Pensacola, Florida.

Julie Chrisley is serving her seven-year sentence at FMC Lexington, Kentucky, which the prison’s website describes as a “state administrative security medical center with adjoining minimum security satellite camp.”

The Chrisleys, best known for their reality program Chrisley Knows Best, were found guilty in a Georgia court in June of conning banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.

The couple and their accountant were also convicted of multiple tax crimes, including attempting to defraud the IRS and evading collection of overdue taxes, according to the Justice Department.

The Chrisleys have maintained their innocence and are appealing.

“Chrisley Knows Best” debuted on the USA Network in 2014. An abridged tenth season is scheduled to air later this year.
