Tina Turner’s legacy valued at around $300 million

Afida Turner, Tina Turner’s daughterinlaw, spoke about the singer’s legacy on French channel Canal+’s TPMP show. According to Afida, the artist, who died last Wednesday the 24th at the age of 83, has an estimated net worth of nearly US$300 million (about R$1.5 billion).

The widow of Ronnie Taylor, Tina’s son and daughterinlaw, said about 47% of the inheritance should go to the singer’s husband, music producer Erwin Bach.

According to Swiss law, their children are entitled to the rest.

Tina Turner, who officially resided in Switzerland, had four children. Two of them were biological, Craig and Ronnie, who have since passed away. The other two descended only from her first husband Ike. The artist adopted Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner after their mother’s death.

According to Afida, the problem is that the singer would never have legally adopted her exhusband’s two children that she raised. “So the only descendants of Tina Turner would be Craig and Ronnie,” he said.

Craig, Tina’s eldest son, apparently died by suicide in 2018 at the age of 55. Four years later, Ronnie, the youngest, died of cancer at the age of 62.

Adopted children Ike Turner Jr. (born 1958) and Michael Turner (1959) chose to stay out of the limelight for most of their lives.

Millionaire villa in Switzerland

In the last years of her life, Tina Turner lived in a mansion in the Zurich region of Switzerland, where she also died. In 2022, the property was valued at US$76 million (about R$380 million).

The 22,000squarefoot property overlooking Lake Zurich was described as a “new weekend retreat” by the star’s husband, Erwin Bach. The mansion had a large outdoor area with a private pond, creek, swimming pool and deck for boats.

The singer moved to Switzerland in the 1990s and became a citizen there in 2013. She left America to live closer to her partner.

According to website CelebrityNetWorth, the Queen of Rock lost much of her fortune when she split from exhusband Ike Turner in 1976.

She decided to leave most of her money with her exhusband in order not to have prolonged arguments with him after a difficult relationship.
