Tiger Woods stumbles in final round

After bouncing back with a strong 67 performance the previous day, Tiger Woods failed to build his momentum by returning a 73 card in the final round of the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The “Tiger” started his day with a birdie on the first hole, but things later got complicated for the 47-year-old athlete. He committed five bogeys, including three on the nine before the end.

Woods finished his first PGA tournament of the season tied 45th with a total score of 283 (-1).

Spaniard Jon Rahm put in another solid performance on Sunday, claiming his first coronation since winning the US Open in 2021 from a point of 69.

The 28-year-old golfer made five birdies on his round.

Things got difficult for him on the back nine when he was caught by Max Homa on the 12th hole. Rahm then placed two birdies on holes 14 and 16 to save himself with distinction.

Thanks to this victory, the main contender regains the lead in the PGA world rankings.

Adam Svensson was the best maple leaf representative in this tournament. He finished the day with a score of 69, placing ninth overall.

Mackenzie Hughes (71) ended the weekend tied in 50th place, while the other two Canadians present at the event, Corey Conners (69) and Adam Hadwin (75), finished 61st and 66th, respectively .
