ITALY – The Fallen Slide Kings. Two men were noticed in Venice this Wednesday, August 17, because they crossed the city on motorized boards. An activity that did not at all amuse the mayor of the city, Luigi Brugnaro, as you can see in the video at the top of the article.
Footage of the two on the Grand Canal, the city’s most famous waterway, has gone viral in Italy. It didn’t escape the city’s mayor, who shared it again on Twitter, calling the individuals “idiots.”

A few hours later, on the same social network, Luigi Brugnaro informed that the two adventurers had been found and the boards confiscated.

Venetian media Il Gazzettino reports that each of the two individuals was fined €1,500 for endangering the safety of navigation along the canal and expelled from the City of the Doges.
However, the story does not say whether the Venetian mayor actually offered dinner to the person or people who helped arrest the two men.
The municipality is also considering taking them to court for damaging Venice’s image.
