This latest 4K QNED TV from LG 100 Hz and

This hasn’t been a surprise for years: LG dominates the OLED market. But this dominance was obviously not enough for the South Korean brand, as it simply decided to develop a new imaging technology, this time close to QLED: QNED, a combination of Quantum Dot and NanoCell technologies. and MiniLEDs. A nice program that can be found on the LG 55QNED82 model, which also offers many other advantages. Starting with the price, which drops below 700 euros.

The main points of the LG 55QNED82

  • A 55-inch QNED 4K panel + 100 Hz
  • A processor capable of processing UHD images at up to 120 Hz
  • Two HDMI 2.1 ports

The LG 55QNED82 television initially costs 899 euros, but is currently being offered at Boulanger for 699 euros.

The right mix between QLED and NanoCell

For one of its new TV series for 2023, LG is relying on a completely new image technology, namely QNED, for Quantum Dot NanoCell. Specifically, QNED is a combination of QLED’s quantum dot filter and the brand’s NanoCell technology, which applies a filter to light to make each color more vivid from all angles. The QNED panel therefore promises bright images, deep contrasts and truly more vibrant colors. A good way to enjoy films and series in the best conditions.

With the LG 55QNED82 model we have a 55-inch QNED 4K panel (3,840 x 2,160 pixels), which also supports HDR10 content and thus ensures very detailed images. On the other hand, there is no Dolby Vision here, which is a shame. This screen also features the 6th generation Alpha7 processor, which can handle Ultra HD images at up to 120Hz and effectively handle content scaling. Also note the excellent refresh rate of 100 Hz, which ensures high fluid reproduction of all content. On the audio side we can count on the compatibility of the two 20W speakers with the DTS:X format, which allows you to have a very enveloping and immersive sound. However, we get better results with a soundbar.

A good TV for gaming

LG has not forgotten the gamers and has equipped its TV with two HDMI 2.1 ports that support VRR, which counteracts screen tearing and maximizes fluidity, ALLM, which is responsible for reducing latency, or even QMS (for Quick Media Switching), which prevents black screens from occurring when switching between two video contents that do not have the same refresh rate. Compatibility with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync is also included. Please note that the ports also enable 4K@120Hz playback in the best conditions on a next-generation console.

Finally, LG complies with the request: the LG 55QNED82 runs webOS. Streaming platforms are of course available, as are certain music services. The system has also benefited from some improvements: it has significantly changed its appearance and now includes Quick Cards, i.e. tiles that correspond to different activities (home dashboard, sports, games, music, etc.), a new display of notifications, or another more custom function picture mode.
