Jay Jamin Pughbetter known in the wrestling world as Jay Briscoe passed away last Tuesday, January 17th at the age of 38 of age after a serious traffic accident in Laurel, Oakland.
The professional wrestler died in a traffic accident that happened just minutes from Briscoe’s home.
According to preliminary reports of the events, 4 people were trapped in the incident, so it didn’t take long for the local police to go to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that those involved in the accident were engulfed in a fire that reported one child and one adult in critical condition.
Minutes later, the police updated the status of the accident, where the descent of two people involved in the accident to two seriously injured, who were transferred to a health unit for urgent care, was reported.
Hours later after the accident, the ROH site reported that Jay Briscoe had passed away, where they took the opportunity to offer their condolences to the fighter’s family.
“It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic death of Jamin Pugh, known to wrestling fans around the world as Jay Briscoe. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and supporters,” it said.
It should be noted that Jay and his brother Mark were known in the professional wrestling community as “Dem Boys” who managed to place themselves as ROH Tag Team Champions 12 times.
Until now it is not known how the events happened and what was the error in the car or human error that took Jay Briscoe’s life while driving. More details on this unfortunate accident are expected to be released in the coming days.
