Eight masked gunmen stole around $1 million worth of items from a jewelry store in New Jersey during a 60-second operation in broad daylight.

Frightened staff were forced to the ground at gunpoint during the robbery, which took place on Oak Tree Road in Iselin at around 7:45pm last Friday.

Virani Jewelers, an Indian company with just four retail stores, sells Indian-style antique jewelery including diamonds, kundan, emeralds, rubies, cubic zirconia, pearls and sapphires.

The video shows the masked men stuffing bags with gold necklaces, bracelets and bangles before fleeing the store.

CCTV showed the robbers running to the getaway vehicle, jumping into the back of the car and speeding away
