The video proving Stephen Colbert wrong when he accuses Michigan GoP candidate Tudor Dixon of lying

Stephen Colbert’s false claim that GoP candidate Tudor Dixon “made up” a story about a Democratic voter turning Republican can today be debunked by video showing the man, a Muslim father of five, telling his story in a town hall two weeks ago.

Khalil Othman, 41, was speaking at a meeting Oct. 21 in Dearborn, Michigan, where he denounced Democrats and vowed to vote Republicans after being appalled by sexually explicit materials in his children’s books. He told Dixon, who is running against incumbent Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, that she had his vote.

Dixon used his story during a debate as evidence of why so many Americans are being expelled from the Democratic Party, but Colbert assumed she made it up.

“That guy, she totally made it up,” he said of Othman. He then poked fun at the story, saying, “Even if someone finds a book they don’t like in a school library, why would they go to the Democrats? It’s like saying, “Excuse me, is that Chuck Schumer’s office? I didn’t like the House of the Dragon finale. Also, this peanut butter is way too oily in the cupboard but too hard in the fridge. I vote Republican! ‘”

Colbert, who earns millions as host of The Late Show, got his Los Angeles studio audience laughing, but neither Othman nor Dixon found it amusing. “Hi Stephen, I’m real,” Othman wrote on Facebook.

Dixon went further, demanding an apology from Colbert on his show and telling his treatment of Othman is why so many voters will move from blue to red on November 8th.

“Here we have a very serious situation across Michigan and the Democrat media arm is belittling this dad and poking fun at concerns by saying he’s not even real?

“Voters feel like they’re being laughed at for voicing their concerns,” she said in an interview Thursday morning.

“The Dearborn man I was referring to in the debate is real and his story is compelling. Does the very unfunny Stephen Colbert have the courage to admit he was wrong and acknowledge him?’

can also share the video of his speech on the decision to switch from Democrat to Republican.

“I am among the hundreds, maybe thousands, of people in Dearborn who are preparing for the red tsunami. I am a proud Muslim American who has constantly expressed my values and concerns.

“Dearborn has voted Democrats blue for the past two decades, but no more. On behalf of myself and my family, I can assure you with certainty that my family will vote Republican because of these destructive policies that are destroying families today,” he said.

On Facebook, he said he was ready to divorce the Democrats.

“I have been a loyal Democrat since immigrating to this great country almost 20 years ago.

“I’ve never voted Republican. However, the situation with the sexually explicit material in the schools went too far for me. When it comes to my children and my family, I will not back down. Family before party!

“I decided to visit Tudor Dixon in Flat Rock, MI and make my own judgement. During her speech, she spoke at length about parenting rights and her opposition to sexually explicit materials at school. After that, I spoke to Tudor Dixon and dozens of her supporters.

“They treated me with love and respect. They told me they were inspired by Dearborn’s parents to do what is right. I am announcing today that I am hereby divorcing the Democratic Party and STANDING BY MY PARENTS!!’

“To say I’m not here, I don’t exist, I’m not human, that’s utter ignorance,” Khalil Othman, 41, (above) told the Detroit Free Press about Colbert’s remarks

In an interview with the Detroit Free Press in Michigan, Othman said Colbert’s comments were reductive.

“To say I’m not here, I don’t exist, I’m not human, that’s total ignorance.

“Once that person has done their due diligence and started research, or have their team do a little research into who this person who attended Dixon’s rally is, they can easily find my name on social media right away.

‘Just Google it.’

Dixon said Colbert’s stance demonstrates the arrogance of a liberal elite who think they know everything.

“I told his story (during the debate) of Othman to hundreds in Dearborn. and Stephen Colbert records it. And they do this whole skit about how that never happened. That’s what he said, this story never happened.

“That’s where the Democrats are right now. You don’t exist, your stories don’t matter.’
