The thaw continues in southern Quebec

Temperatures will still be comfortable in most parts of Quebec early in the week, where certain southern and central sectors are likely to be hit by an episode of freezing drizzle.

An alternation of sun and clouds is expected in the south of the province, especially in the greater Montreal area, where the mercury on the thermometer shows 2 ° C, while snow accumulations of 2 centimeters can be seen in the western sectors.

The snow will also leave accumulations of 2 to 4 centimeters on the ground, according to Environment Canada, particularly in Estrie and Quebec, where the early morning frigid drizzle will not clear.

In areas a little further north, such as Saguenay, the cloudy weather combined with seasonal temperatures will bring snow showers in the early evening but a feeling of -12C in the afternoon.

With temperatures of -7C to -5C, it will be relatively cold in eastern Quebec, where the federal agency is forecasting an alternation of sun and clouds with more cloud in places, particularly on the north coast.

The thaw will continue throughout the week as maximum temperatures of 7C are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday in several areas in the south and center of the province, such as Montreal, Capitale-Nationale and Estrie.
