During a hearing on Monday, the court accepted certain conditions on the release of Simon-Olivier Frappier, 20, were reduced.

QC Me Simon Boulianne confirms that there are no longer any legal conditions preventing the accused from visiting Cégep de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

The condition that prevented Simon-Olivier Frappier from contacting psychology professor Frankie Bernèche, who the accused had threatened to kill, was also lifted.

However, the other terms remain in effect.

He is still banned from possessing weapons and wearing the bulletproof vest, which has caused panic among some students and prompted a large police operation that left students and staff locked up for several hours.

The case returns to the court at the end of January.
