CAIRO, Jan. 18 (RHC) – Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday for a regional summit that will also be attended by Jordan and Gulf Cooperation Council member countries.

The president’s attendance at the meeting is part of Cairo’s desire to strengthen and expand ties with sister nations in the region, Bassam Rady, spokesman for the head of state, said in a statement.

The Abu Dhabi summit will aim at consultation and coordination to achieve regional and international security and stability, he stressed.

El Sisi received his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas and the King of Jordan, Abdallah II, in this capital yesterday.

The three leaders have criticized Israel’s unilateral and illegal actions in the occupied territories, noting that they undermine the chances of a just and comprehensive peace.

They also condemned Israeli colonization and confiscation of land, demolitions of houses and displacement of Arabs in the West Bank.

In a statement from the presidency of that North African nation, the leaders of the three countries also denounced the ongoing raids by Tel Aviv forces on Palestinian cities.

In addition, they called on the international community to protect these people who are fighting for their legitimate rights. (Source:PL)
