Jean Paulo Campos, who rose to national fame as Cirilo in the latest version of Chiquititas (SBT), caught public attention with a dramatic scene in the telenovela Vai na Fé, which premiered on Globo this week and marks the actor’s first work on the Rio station.

In the story, the character he plays plays Yuri, is arrested without having committed a crime. In the scene in question, the law student was leaving a bar he was at with his college mates when he got into an argument with Fred (Henrique Barreira). On his way home, he was stopped by police officers and taken to a police station, where he was “recognized” by a victim of an attempted robbery and sexual abuse.

The dramatic charge of Yuri’s prison scene made the work of Jean Paulo Campos one of the most commented on topics on social networks this Wednesday (18). The actor was widely praised on Twitter for the sequence the character was still having an anxiety attack in the cell he was locked in.

“Yuri will be emotional tomorrow talking to Ben and Lumiar! Jean Paulo Campos: the greatest of his generation,” said one of them. Jean Paulo Campos [está] fabulous in a super difficult scene,” said another. “Jean Paulo Campos is great at Vai na Fé. Lucky for him to debut in a Rosane Svartman soap opera and in a wonderful role,” emphasized a third.
