The four words that will forever haunt Michael Clarke amid a cheating scandal

Michael Clarke has been embroiled in a scandal after his current girlfriend Jade Yarbrough accused the former cricketer of cheating on his ex-flame Pip Edwards.

Sensational footage emerged of Clarke and Yarbrough engaged in a fiery exchange about the alleged incident in front of shocked onlookers at a public park on Wednesday night.

Now veteran showbiz reporter Peter Ford has revealed that the four words Clarke said during his scuffle will “haunt” him going forward.

During an appearance on Sunrise on Channel Seven on Thursday to discuss the scandal, Ford said: “He used four words that I think will haunt him.

“I think it’s his character or what people will perceive of him, where he says twice, ‘On my daughter’s life, it’s not true.’

“And now, of course, he’s showing that it’s actually true,” added Ford. “You don’t pull out that card and use it unless it’s actually true.”

Karl Stefanovic and Clarke clashed on January 10 while vacationing with their respective partners, sisters Jasmine and Jade, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The melee is believed to be about Clarke’s ex-girlfriend, high-profile fashion designer Edwards and recent news between the two.

The Daily Telegraph’s dramatic footage shows a shirtless Clarke being yelled at and hit by his angry girlfriend while others in the group try to defuse the commotion.

But Edwards, 42, had none of the drama when she returned to her home in the eastern suburbs late Wednesday night after attending Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park.

“It’s not my circus. Once again, Michael in his true nature has taken no responsibility for his actions and I have been openly lied to,” she said in a statement to Chron Australia.

Edwards later shared photos of himself beaming at Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park.

In a video of the angry exchange between Clarke, Stefanovic and their partners, Jade accused Clarke of sleeping with Edwards on December 17 and texted her that she was the “love of his life.”

All hell broke loose when the famous friends and their sweetheart had dinner at a beachfront restaurant in Noosa with fellow famous accountant Anthony Bell.

The video begins with Jade yelling at Clarke before slapping him in the face and pushing him away after the cricket legend claimed he didn’t cheat on her.

‘Am I wrong? I’m damn wrong! You are a fucking liar. i can see everything You called her,” Jade yells, apparently referring to messages between Clarke and Edwards.

Clarke then tries to reassure Jade that he did not sleep with Edwards on December 17, claiming he was with his pal Bell that night.

“Baby, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” Clarke insists. ‘Baby, baby, Belly was in the house. I swear on my life, I swear on my life… That’s not true, that’s not true.’

He then swore on his daughter Kelsey’s life that he hadn’t cheated on her.

“I swear on my daughter’s life, on my daughter’s life,” Clarke says.

But Jade refuses to believe Clarke’s desperate protests, claiming she spoke to Edwards.

‘You’re fucking lying to me. You are a piece of shit. I just spoke to her. What’s the matter with you?” she says.

Clarke again denies sleeping with Pip and replies, “No, I didn’t. you can hit me That’s not true, that’s not true.’

Clarke appeared to have injured his hamstring in the melee after being knocked to the ground by Jade when he was seen limping through the public park.

Stefanovic’s wife Jasmine eventually intervenes, grabbing her distraught sister’s arm and pulling Jade away.

You can hear Jasmin say: “Go away with Karl, go away with Karl.”

As she is led away, Jade can be heard crying as she turns to Clarke and says, “I fucking hate you.”

Clarke then attempts to follow Jade before unleashing a wave of anger at Stefanovic, seemingly for walking away with the two sisters.

“Karlos, I can tell you now, shit, don’t go the fuck away. She can, she can hit me, but you, you shit,” says Clarke.

The comment sparks anger in Jade, who defends her brother-in-law before repeatedly punching Clarke in the face.

“You piece of shit, don’t fucking talk to him,” she yells.

Stefanovic and fellow celebrity accountant Anthony Bell tell the couple to stop, which falls on deaf ears.

“Go hit me, hit me… do it again, you’re wrong, you’re bloody wrong,” Clarke tells his girlfriend.

Jade yells, “Oh, am I wrong? You fucked her (Edwards) on December 17th, you fucked her…you’re a fucking dog…I’ll show her every fucking message you ever sent me.’

She is referring to a text she saw on Clarke’s phone inviting Edwards to come to India with him.

“Oh yes, you are the love of my life, Pip, come to India,” says Jade.

Clarke replies, ‘Never speak to me again.’

The two-minute clip ends with Jasmine and Bell breaking up the feuding couple.

“Stop it, Jade, stop it,” Jasmine pleads. Bell adds, “Let it go, Jade.”

The ugly altercation happened in front of young children nearby, according to stunned witnesses.

A remorseful Clarke has taken full responsibility for what happened.

“I am absolutely disappointed that I have brought into this position people I value most in this position. My actions leading up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,” he told the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday night.

“I’m devastated that my actions have drawn women of class and integrity and my buddies into this situation.”

Chron Australia has reached out to all other stakeholders for comment.

Clarke’s relationship with his former partner Edwards began in June 2020 after he split from his wife Kyly, whom they announced four months earlier.

He and Edwards had previously been friends for more than a decade, but became closer when they worked on a fashion project together.

The couple called it quits in December 2021.

A source close to the couple confirmed the split, saying: “The decision was mutual. They are two best friends who decided to break up as a couple earlier this month but to continue their friendship.

After their split, Edwards had an affair with Bondi restaurateur Cameron Northway for around four months, but that fizzled out and she reunited with Clarke.

Clarke and Edwards recently attended an exclusive A-list New Year’s celebration at Sydney’s iconic Icebergs.

The former Australian Test cricket captain was married to model ex Kyly Clarke (née Boldy), 40, from 2012 to 2019 but the couple only announced their split in February 2020.

The Clarkes had kept their split a secret for several months before releasing a statement on Instagram saying their daughter was their priority.

In a statement at the time, the couple said the “amicable” decision to separate was “the best way forward” for their daughter.
