- Ford announced details of its large-scale promotional efforts as it prepares to unveil the new S650-generation Mustang on September 14 in Detroit.
- The automaker will host an outdoor party at Hart Plaza this evening during press days for the Detroit Auto Show and invites “Mustang fans around the world” to attend in person and through social media channels.
- According to Ford, interested Mustang owners and fans can register online to participate.
Ford announced today that it will be holding an outdoor event in Detroit, which it predictably calls “The Stampede,” to celebrate the launch of the new S650-generation Mustang. This event will take place on the evening of September 14th at Hart Plaza near the venue of the Detroit Auto Show, which is also hosting press days. Ford is inviting the public to attend and will also be broadcasting the party on social media.
Ahead of the debut, Ford is initiating a cross-country tour in Tacoma, Wash. on September 6th and “all Mustang owners and enthusiasts” are invited to participate in any or all of it. The tour will make approximately 12 stops on the way back to Detroit. Then on September 14 there will be a parade from Ford headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan to the Detroit event.
We don’t yet have full details on the 2024 Mustang, which has only been seen in camouflaged form so far, but it’s expected to retain the same EcoBoost four-cylinder and V-8-powered GT versions to keep the choice going of a manual transmission and retails in the $30,000+ range. The image above predicts a very familiar looking Mustang exterior, but we expect the interior to see a major modernization.
