The Chilean President will travel to Argentina for the Celac Summit

Boric will be accompanied by Chancellor Antonia Urrejola at this summit meeting of Celac, which will take place on Tuesday in the presence of the 33 member countries of the integration mechanism.

Before the meeting, the Chilean President plans to meet with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Qu Dongyu, with whom he will discuss the plan to end hunger by 2025.

He also plans to meet the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, to review the Association Agreement with the European Union and strengthen ties with the old continent.

Celac is an intergovernmental mechanism for dialogue and political agreement that emerged with a commitment to advance the gradual process of integration.

Since its inception, this forum has helped to deepen rapprochement between all countries in the region on issues such as development, education, nuclear disarmament, family farming, culture, finance, energy and the environment.

At their second summit in Havana in 2014, Celac member countries agreed to declare Latin America and the Caribbean a zone of peace.
