The Chase Australia contestant suffers an embarrassing slip of the tongue when she accidentally says she wants to ‘try cocaine’ on a family-friendly show.

A contestant at The Chase Australia suffered an embarrassing slip of the tongue this week when she accidentally said she wanted to “try cocaine”.

The woman burst out laughing after realizing her mistake after telling host Larry Emdur she had always wanted to try ‘croquet’.

The accident came after she was asked the question, ‘Pinning an opponent’s balls is a common tactic at which grass game?’

When asked why she chose the croquet answer, she told Larry, “Well, I’ve always wanted to try cocaine,” before quickly realizing her mistake.

She quickly corrected herself, saying, “I mean, I’ve always wanted to try croquet because I think you can have a glass of wine along the way.”

Larry, who also chuckled after the mistake, replaced Andrew O’Keefe as host of the hit quiz show in 2021.

O’Keefe has been out of favor with a specular fall in recent years and was filmed kicking and screaming in the back of a police van in January after being charged with assault.

It was just the latest in a long line of sad scandals for the 50-year-old former Deal or No Deal presenter, who used to be one of Australia’s most popular TV presenters.

Another newcomer to the show, which made headlines last year for her young age, is 27-year-old Mara Lejins.

She joined longtime hunter Anne “The Governess” Hegerty, Mark “The Beast” Labbett, and Issa “The Supernerd” Schultz.

Woman’s Day reported that Ms Hegarty expressed “disappointment” at the move, bringing in Chaser in her twenties “who look like they could be on Love Island”.

Ms Hegerty said she would be “pissed off” if replaced by one of the younger recruits because “she wouldn’t be as good as me”.
