The candidates in Brazil ended their campaigns

Their paths did not cross, but both decided to close the financial capital of Brazil, where more than 40 million people vote, because of the city’s potential impact on the outcome of the elections. It remains to be seen whether there will be a second round on Sunday, October 30th.

Lula’s final tour began at the intersection of the traditional Avenida Paulista and Augusta Streets in the center of the city, where thousands of militants with flags and banners gathered to accompany the Labor Party (PT) leader. The two-time president was with Fernando Haddad, his alliance’s candidate for governor of São Paulo, and his running mate Geraldo Alckmin, with whom he led a huge caravan aboard a car.

The activity was scheduled for 10am, but between the delay in Lula’s arrival and the heavy rain that fell on this town around noon, the tour didn’t start until after 1pm. For his part, Bolsonaro also chose São Paulo to have his last weight before the performance The Choice. He did it along with his candidates in a motorcycle caravan attended by thousands of vehicles. Under Brazilian flags, the re-election candidate was also confident of victory, leading the long line of supporters who accompanied him in his final campaign. The President will vote in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday and then await the results with his family in Brasilia.
