The blockade against Cuba is illegal and must be ended, stressed Lavrov

Answering a question from Prensa Latina at the meeting, held at the Foreign Ministry this Wednesday, Lavrov acknowledged that Moscow’s relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries are on the rise, as evidenced by bilateral exchanges and cooperation.

The minister said that Russia and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) intend to resume the dialogue mechanism established at the ministerial level to coordinate mutual actions.

Lavrov acknowledged that the announcement of Brazil’s return to Celac is very important for regional integration and allows nations to voice their interests and concerns with one voice.

Referring to the Ukraine issue, the diplomat assured that Russia is ready to respond to serious proposals for negotiations, but has not yet received any.

Answering a question about Japan’s new military doctrine, Lavrov said Russia will do everything possible to ensure its security and, just like in the European part of its borders, draw conclusions on what to do.

Referring to relations between Russia and African nations, the Foreign Minister reminded that trade with them is carried out through agreements in local currency, and documents are being prepared to find new forms of interaction under the conditions of sanctions.

Finally, in relation to reshaping a multipolar world, Lavrov said that the United States does not have sufficient forces of its own to contain Russia and China simultaneously, so it resorts to total Western mobilization to change the inevitable.
