The Australian actress died at the age of 26 in a car accident with her twin sister

Australian actress Erica Hoy died on Tuesday evening (1st) at the age of 26 in a car accident on the Port River Expressway in the Australian city of Gilman. She was accompanied by four other people, including her twin sister Lisa, who were seriously injured.

According to the New York Post, the woman behind the wheel, Carlie Eileen Richards, crashed with the vehicle. According to police, she tried to flee the scene of the accident and then refused to give her name or confirm that she was behind the wheel.

Carlie is hospitalized and given a hearing at Queen Elizabeth Hospital but chose to remain silent while testifying, The Advertiser reports.


Greg Hoy, Erica’s father, told the publication in an interview that his daughter was returning from an acting class when the accident happened.

“She never worried us. She was a bright, happy, positive young woman,” he said.

Erica recently starred in a film screened at the Adelaide Film Festival and a web series called The Reality of Humanity.
