Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo has accidentally released a new Final Fantasy Signature clothing line.
The new series of kits appeared on the Vietnamese version of the company’s website before being quickly removed. However, the announcement was there long enough for the community to take notice and save the images of the new products. The company has since posted a short video on its YouTube channel confirming the t-shirt designs.
The collection includes 16 unique t-shirts, one for each main game in the series and one for Final Fantasy 16, which is still in development. This collection was created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the series this year.
The collection is not very uniform in design, so there is something for everyone. Some are decorated with modern art, others with logos, and those based on the older games in the series are decorated with pixel art.
Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but during their collaboration with Pokémon, adult t-shirts have sold for around $25, while kids’ shirts have sold for around $19. Considering that the Final Fantasy series is geared much more towards adults who grew up with this series and that the models for the leotards are adults only, it would be surprising to see a kid’s version during the sale. However, the possibility is not completely ruled out.
No release date has been announced for these t-shirts (obviously, since the announcement was accidentally leaked first), but we can expect them to be available for the series’ 35th anniversary in December 2022. Otherwise, it would also be possible that the company is waiting for the release of Final Fantasy 16, whose release date has not yet been announced, to announce its new collection.
