The Amazing Race is going global again.

Channel 10 on Sunday released a new trailer for the upcoming season featuring teams making their way around the world.

The new format is in stark contrast to its Australia-only version, which aired last year due to global coronavirus lockdowns.

“The Amazing Race is back and this year we’re going all over the world,” announces host Beau Ryan in the trailer.

Teams were forced to walk barefoot over hot coals during the drama of finding the next clue.

‘I walk through there barefoot?’ said one candidate.

“The fake hair was pinned back, the lashes I was a little nervous about.”

It comes after the show was ” thrown into chaos” during filming in March due to Covid, according to blog TV Blackbox.

Due to isolation requirements, members of the production crew, supervising producers and even host Beau Ryan are off duty for the time being.

Those affected by Covid-19 and the isolation period will be recovering in hotels while nationwide hopping production moves to their nearest locations.

In a statement to TV Blackbox, a Channel Ten spokesman said filming is continuing.

“A small number of positive COVID cases have been detected in the production of The Amazing Race Australia, but filming for the upcoming season has not been affected,” the statement said.

“The affected crew is isolated while production continues.”

The final season was filmed in Newell Beach, Queensland due to Covid restrictions.

Despite filming abroad, the production company has confirmed strict Covid-safe protocols are being implemented on set.
